This is the very reason you will not make money blogging. The question should be “how can I bring value to people that are seeking solutions in my particular niche?” Focus on your target audience for your blog. WHO are you trying to help? All businesses must revolve around solving problems for people. You must become the solution for your audience, customers, or readers. Next you must decide WHAT kind of services or content you will provide for your target audience to benefit them. Then decide WHEN you will start your website and execute your plan. In addition, you must determine WHERE you will host this information such as on a professional hosting service like Hostgator or at Wealthy Affiliate or whatever hosting you desire.
As a newbie blogger you may want to practice blogging at the free blogging platforms like Google Blogger, TypePad, Tumblr, HubPages, et cetera. Next you must ask WHY you want to blog in the first place? Is your only motive to make money? Then you definitely will push people away from your blog. I think the WHY notion should be asked first before you invest some money to create your blog.
Otherwise, you will not follow through and stick it out through the dry phases of blogging when you have zero visitors, zero comments, zero traffic. You may doubt yourself and just shut down your blog. I think blogging needs to be connected with your purpose in your life where you are utilizing all your inner talents and gifts to solve other people’s problems. This in turn will reap you great rewards in every area of your life including finances.

PICK A NICHE
Here is a video by Matt Winn on how to make people read your niche blog.
The first step will be to pick a niche. Now I highly recommend that you pick a niche around your passions. If you are passionate about traveling, then it will be easier to start a blog based on the traveling niche. If you like to exercise, you can consider starting up a fitness blog. Whatever the case, it is easier for you to maintain the blog in the long run if you are passionate about the subject.
Once you have picked a niche, you will need to sign up for some affiliate programs (Amazon Associates, Commission Junction, JvZoo, Warrior Plus…) for that niche. ClickBank’s marketplace offers a wide range of affiliate programs for many different niches, so you may want to check that out too. You will need to register for a ClickBank account, but it is free, so go ahead and sign up for one. At the end of each blog entry, simply add your affiliate link that corresponds to your niche but provide a decent review of the products you want to promote. Don’t promote any products that are not connected to your niche.
